Our Story
We are Slade and Katie Hunt, and together with our children, founded Be the Need in 2021 after visiting the Soweto Slum outside Nairobi, Kenya. Surrounded by overwhelming poverty and countless needs, we quickly realized we could never meet every need. But God wasn’t asking us to do everything-He was asking us to do something. Through God’s faithful direction, our mission is clear: to provide physical and spiritual food to vulnerable children.
